Farm Coach Program
Opportunities to Grow
The Farm Coach program is a vital part of what we offer our community, and helps us to fulfill our mission, which is, “Working with our community to provide access to and afford purposeful jobs to individuals with disabilities”
Our Farm Coach Program was inspired by Paul Lam, who was an integral part of turning this urban farm into what it has become today (you can read more about Paul Lam under Our Story). The program is coordinated and run by our farm coaches, and maintained by a variety of part-time farmers and volunteers.
Our Farm Coach program allows members of the community who have disabilities to benefit from our programming. This unique program creates an environment for our employees to engage in leadership and mentorship opportunities. A focal point of the program is making sure the farmers are able to facilitate independence, with an emphasis on expanding social and leadership skills. Our farm coaches help farmers improve their efficiency, confidence, and motivation.
